For JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes, it only took two to tango on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
Although they had never met before entering the house, JoJo and Chris quickly formed a strong bond—something that didn’t go unnoticed by viewers. And when JoJo’s ex, Kath Ebbs, revealed that JoJo broke up with them at the show’s wrap party, fans started wondering if JoJo and Chris’ relationship had turned romantic.
“Obviously we’re close,” JoJo shared during her April 28 appearance on This Morning. “Obviously we’re tight.”
As for Chris, 32, he admitted their connection is hard to describe.
“It’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship,” the Love Island UK alum explained. “I think you can have a soulmate friendship. It’s not your typical friendship—it’s deeper—but still a friendship, and it’s really special.”
Chris also talked about how the show’s intense environment, being isolated together for three weeks, helped them grow even closer.
“Having someone there every day—through the ups and downs—was beautiful,” he said. “It was probably my favorite thing I got from the whole experience.”
But is there more going on between them?
“It is platonic,” JoJo confirmed. “We have so much fun together. Life is life. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m grateful for the bond we share. Whatever happens, happens.”
JoJo also opened up about her breakup with Kath, saying it was never her plan to end things at the wrap party.
“Initially, I was told the wrap party wasn’t something they wanted to attend,” JoJo said. “About an hour in, they decided they did. I was planning to have a conversation beforehand, but it ended up happening there. They asked if I was happy, and I said no.”
The Dance Moms alum, 21, explained that her time on Big Brother gave her much-needed clarity.
“Being away from everyone—away from opinions—forced me to sit with my own thoughts,” JoJo reflected. “I realized there were things in my life I was accepting that I never should have. Breaking up with Kath was part of that, but it was bigger than just that relationship. I knew I needed to make some real changes.”
A Look at JoJo Siwa’s Past Relationships
Mark Bontempo
At 17, JoJo introduced Mark Bontempo as her boyfriend in August 2020, calling him “amazing” and better than any of her past celebrity crushes. But by November, they had split.
“Mark doesn’t deserve any hate,” JoJo wrote on Instagram. “We had fun, we were happy, but we decided it’s best not to be in a relationship.”
Kylie Prew
JoJo met Kylie Prew on a 2020 cruise, and by early 2021, they were officially together. Kylie supported JoJo coming out publicly, encouraging her to post a “Best Gay Cousin Ever” shirt photo on Instagram.
The two moved in together but broke up later that year, briefly rekindled in 2022, and now remain good friends. “We talk all the time,” JoJo said on Call Her Daddy in 2024.
Katie Mills
In early 2022, JoJo revealed she was dating TikToker Katie Mills, calling herself “a loyal lady” on the Rachel Uncensored podcast.
However, things later soured. After JoJo posted a video about “love bombing” and “clout chasing,” Katie fired back, saying JoJo misrepresented their relationship and insisting she had proof.
Avery Cyrus
JoJo and YouTuber Avery Cyrus briefly dated in late 2022. JoJo said their personalities “mashed together” perfectly, but they broke up after just a few months.
While JoJo hinted she was “used for clout,” Avery insisted their relationship was genuine and said they remained friends.
Dakayla Wilson
JoJo started dating So You Think You Can Dance runner-up Dakayla Wilson in mid-2024, even becoming her “All-Star Assistant” during a dance class. JoJo gushed about their love, throwing Dakayla a $30,000 birthday bash in Hawaii.
However, by the end of 2024, JoJo confirmed they had split but said Dakayla was still an “amazing girl.”
Kath Ebbs
In January 2025, JoJo made her relationship with Australian content creator Kath Ebbs public. Kath posted sweet kissing photos, captioning them, “Bit of queer joy for ya feed today!!”
Their romance ended shortly after Celebrity Big Brother, but JoJo said the experience helped her realize what she truly wanted in life.
